If you don’t love Si Woo Kim, we can’t be buddies. I mean, it doesn’t get better than this guy. He was part of the morning wave on Thursday at the U.S. Open and posted a 2-under 68 thanks to four birdies—Nos. 6, 7, 11, and 13—and two bogeys—Nos. 5 and 8.
After hitting his approach on the par-3 sixth, he said he shanked it. I don’t know about you, but my shanks don’t usually end up this good.

Again, this guy rocks.
But arguably the best moment of his day came at his presser when he said this about Oakmont:
“It was tough. I played three nine holes, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and I saw the past scores, like 5-over win. Honestly, I don't even know what I'm doing on the course," Kim said. "Kind of hitting good but feel like this course is too hard for me. So kind of like no expectation, but I played great today.”
Plus, his afternoon plans sounds pretty damn good.
“I'm just so tired, like playing this course,” Kim said. “I'm just going to have lunch and then do some putt and then watch some golf.”
I get it, Si Woo. I’m tired after just watching these guys battle this monster.
He’s just two shots back of J.J. Spaun, who posted a bogey-free 66 around Oakmont. Yup, you read that right. Zero bogeys. I have no clue what course that guy was playing.
