We won't be seeing Justin Thomas playing golf for a while.
On Friday, JT announced that he'd undergone a microdiscectomy on Thursday at Hospital of Special Surgery in New York. After nagging hip pain for months, an MRI showed a disc problem that needed to be treated.
Thomas doesn't have a particular event circled for his return, but he did mention that he will be missing events to start the year.
In 21 starts in 2025, Thomas made 19 cuts, finished inside the top 10 eight times, earned three silver medals, and broke his winless drought at the RBC Heritage in April. The last time we saw the World No. 8 was at Bethpage Black, where he put up a 2-2 record against the Europeans.
Thomas was one of the four players slated to play in this month’s Skins Game, the first since 2008. Xander Schauffele, Tommy Fleetwood, and Keegan Bradley are still good to go. Skratch announced Saturday morning that Shane Lowry will replace Thomas at Panther National.
