We all saw this one coming. After a thrilling final round finish at the Amundi Evian Championship, Lottie Woad, is now a professional golfer.
The now former top-ranked amateur, has elected to turn professional and accepted the LPGA Tour membership she earned through the LPGA's LEAP program, becoming the first player to have completed and graduate from the new pathway program. She also accepted LET membership following her dominant win at the KPMG Women's Irish Open two weeks ago.
The 2024 Augusta National Women's Amateur champion reminded us all that she's cool under pressure, displaying one of the best amateur finishes we've seen at a major championship since Catherine Lacoste won the 1967 U.S. Women’s Open. She fired a 7-under 64 on Sunday at Evian which helped her secure the final LEAP point needed in order to earn her LPGA membership.
“It's really cool,” the 21 year old said about securing her Tour status after the final round at Evian. “It's always nice to be the first to do something so grateful that I had the opportunity to do it. Just relieved now. It was kind of wearing on me for a bit.”

Woad will have LPGA Tour status for the remainder of the 2025 season and all of 2026, and she will be seeded into Category 13 on the LPGA Priority List.
She'll be making her professional debut at the Women’s Scottish Open next week, ahead of the AIG Open, aka the women's British Open. Woad will also tee it up at the AIG at Royal Porthcawl, since she was the low amateur last year at St Andrews.

But Woad isn't the only Florida State Seminole who just announced her pro status. Her former FSU teammate Mirabel Ting has also made the transition over to professional golf, and made her debut last week at Evian.
FSU head coach Amy Bond will look to fill the shoes of her top two players, but of course is cheering them on in this next chapter.
