The pathway for LIV Golf players to return to the PGA TOUR was never going to be perfect. It was always going to frustrate someone. But I think the PGA TOUR and Brian Rolapp did a pretty good job of threading the needle with the Returning Members Program. But, as expected, some TOUR players are torn, including 2023 U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark.
Clark jumped on SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio on Wednesday to chat with Colt Knost and was asked about Brooks Koepka’s return, something that was only possible thanks to the new RMP.

“Gosh, I’m so torn,” Clark said. “I personally really like Brooks, and I think it’s ultimately really good for the PGA TOUR. But also…it’s kinda frustrating that he’s able to get the cake and also eat it. So, I don’t know.
“At the end of the day, I want whatever’s best for the PGA TOUR, and I think if guys come back, especially top players like Brooks, it’s only going to help the TOUR, which is ultimately going to help me.”
Despite the RMP’s financial penalties—Koepka won’t earn anything from the TOUR’s Player Equity Program for five years, won’t see money from the FedExCup bonus pool in 2026, and he was asked to make a $5 million charitable donation—Clark admitted that he wished there were more repercussions.
I’m sure Clark won’t be the only player to voice some indecision, but we’ve already seen some big names approve of the move, including Tiger Woods, Ludvig Aberg, Max Homa, and Rickie Fowler.
