As chairman of the PGA TOUR’s Future Competition Committee, Tiger Woods was heavily involved with establishing the Returning Members Program, the very policy that made it possible for Brooks Koepka to return to the TOUR after several years with LIV Golf.

I think it’s safe to say that the GOAT is pretty happy with how everything turned out.

Before Tuesday night’s TGL match between Jupiter Links and New York Golf Club, Tiger stopped for a chat with Scott Van Pelt to dish on what the five-time major champion’s return means.

“I think it’s incredible for the TOUR…the (fans) want to see the best play against the best, and for Brooks to want to come back a year early, he was able to do that. We worked through Christmas and through the early part of the year.”

Three other players were qualified to use the RMP, but earlier Tuesday afternoon, Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, and Cameron Smith confirmed they’d be staying with LIV.

Koepka makes his return at the Farmers Insurance Open at the end of January. He’ll return to Phoenix a week later as a two-time champion.
