There have been remnants of it in the last two last years, because we know golf likes to takes a second to catch up with the trends sometimes—and alas, we're finally catching up.
Born out of Copenhagen Fashion Week, butter yellow, a softer more calming tone to what can be overwhelmingly warm at times has become the new “it” color for early spring arrivals. Leave it to the stylish Scandinavians to make a color cooler, and golf brands are leaning in (and we're so here for it).

Different brands have placed their own flare on how they've chosen to utilize the very particular shade of yellow this spring. Some have stayed the course with using a true pale yellow, others have gone a bit deeper, reaching more lemony hues, but nevertheless, everyone seems to be finding harmony with their set color stories, and embracing the new.
Take popular women's brand Fore All for instance. Most known for its whimsy green and white checkered print, has started to introduce new colors into the brand's larger palette. Jen Clyde, co-founder of Fore All whose career is rooted in fashion and styling, believes that when bringing new colors into the mix, they have to be complimentary to what's already existing. "I mean we always reference the color wheel, I tell our team, colors have to be best friends. Our newer shades of yellow are anchored to our green that's so prevalent in our brand—it has to make sense," she says.

The ways these brands are mixing in yellow is more nuanced than the typical pastel shade we've seen in golf before. Think about the tones that are born in early spring, usually around The Masters, it's brighter more airy—this era of yellow functions much differently. It's manifesting in a cooler way, and I mean that stylistically and in terms of temperature and warmth.
When it comes to styling yellow, take a page out of our Scandinavian friends' book—pair it with deeper neutrals: grey, navy, black, hunter green for an edgier more modish look. For our khaki loyalist—I challenge you to substitute the soft yellow and create a new sense of depth on the course.

And if all this style talk isn't convincing enough, there are psychological studies to show that wearing yellow and other warmer colors actually make you happier and more confident...and we all need a dose of that in our golf games.
