Three Players to Watch at the RBC Heritage

Jordan Spieth time? Here are three players you should keep an eye on at this week's RBC Heritage.

I’d be lying to you if I said I wasn’t suffering from a Masters hangover. After a week of watching golf at the greatest course in the world, anything that followed would be a letdown. But it should be a good week at the RBC Heritage.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler headlines the field for the PGA TOUR’s fourth Signature event of the season, and he’ll be joined by Xander Schauffele, Matt Fitzpatrick, Cameron Young, Collin Morikawa, Tommy Fleetwood, Ludvig Aberg, and defending champion Justin Thomas, among others.

Rory McIlroy, fresh off another win at Augusta National, isn’t in the field—it’s hard to blame him.

Before the action gets underway Thursday morning, I wanted to run through three players I’ll be keeping my eye on at Harbour Town.

Three Players to Watch at the RBC Heritage

Xander Schauffele (15/1 to Win)

Over the last few months, Schauffele has done everything but win. He’s due. He tied for seventh at the Genesis Invitational, grabbed solo-third at THE PLAYERS, finished T-4 at the Valspar Championship, and T-9 at the Masters.

A W is coming soon for the World No. 9—and Harbour Town feels like a good spot to clip one off.

Over the last three seasons, Schauffele has finished solo-fourth (2023) and T-18 twice (2024, 2025) at the RBC Heritage. It’s time for X to get one over the finish line. I expect he’ll have a chance to do just that come Sunday afternoon.

Jordan Spieth (30/1 to Win)

On Sunday, Spieth said that the ‘26 Masters was the best he had ever hit it at Augusta National—the putter just has to wake up.

“I feel like I'm playing great golf,” he said. “I don't feel like my results are showing it. All you got to do when that happens is stay the course. The results end up coming. Sometimes the game takes a while to pay off.”

Let’s hope the pay-off comes at Harbour Town.

Not only did he win this tournament in 2022, but he also lost in a playoff to Matt Fitzpatrick in 2023. Plus, he tied for 18th just last season.

You never know what you’re going to get with him, but we’ll be riding the Spieth roller coaster in Hilton Head.

Sungjae Im (70/1)

Im was a bit of a mixed bag at Augusta. He posted rounds of 76 and 77 on Thursday and Sunday, respectively. But in the middle rounds, he shot a couple 69s. But I’m more interested in what he did about a month ago at the Valspar Championship.

Sure, a final round 74 pushed him into a tie for fourth, but he was leading that tournament for most of the week. According to Data Golf, the Cooperhead Course at Innisbrook is a great course comparison to Harbour Town. Plus, since missing the cut in his first two appearances in Hilton Head, he’s rattled off five straight finishes of T-21 or better: T-13 (2021), T-21 (2022), T-7 (2023), T-12 (2024), and T-11 (2025).

At 70/1, with his course history and recent performance at a good course comp, that’s great value.
