Must-Watch Groupings for the First Two Rounds of the PGA Championship

NEWTON SQUARE, Pa. — If there’s one thing you can trust about major championships, it’s they’re not afraid to load up the groupings for the first few days. The PGA Championship at Aronimink is no exception.

For example, Masters champion Rory McIlroy will play alongside Jordan Spieth, who is chasing a Career Grand Slam of his own, and good buddy Jon Rahm. WIth everything going on with LIV Golf, I’m sure those two have lots to talk about.

While there are plenty of them, here are our must-watch groups for the first two rounds of the PGA Championship.

Must-Watch Groups at the PGA Championship

Rory McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, and Jon Rahm

Rory McIlroy laughs heartily at a press conference, wearing a cream hoodie with sponsor logos visible.

First Round: 8:40 a.m.

Second Round: 2:05 p.m.

I mean, how good is this? Maybe Rory will give Jordan a little Career Grand Slam juice and he’ll finally get it done. I’m also interested to see how Rahm plays after a disappointing performance at the Masters last month.

Cameron Young, Keegan Bradley, and Justin Thomas

First Round: 1:54 p.m.

Second Round: 8:29 a.m.

Just a captain and a couple of his players. Bradley won at Aronimink back in 2018 and has played pretty well over the last few months, so he has to be feeling good about his chances this week. Young is the hottest player in the sport right now, and JT is hoping to win his third Wanamaker. This should be a fun one.

Scottie Scheffler, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Justin Rose

First Round: 2:05 p.m.

Second Round: 8:40 a.m.

Fitzpatrick is doing his best Scheffler impression at the moment with three wins already this season, so it only makes sense they’re playing together. As for Rose, he made another run at Augusta last month, can he do it here, too?

Bryson DeChambeau, Ludvig Aberg, and Rickie Fowler

First Round: 8:18 a.m.

Second Round: 1:43 p.m.

McIlroy said Tuesday that he's planning on hitting driver everywhere and figuring it out from there. I assume the plan is the same for DeChambeau, and he thrives with that kind of golf (remember Winged Foot?) Plus, Fowler is balling right now and could very well win on Sunday.
