These Big Names Are Saying "Au Revoir" to Evian

With a ton of players in the red, competition is tight at Evian Golf Resort. Here's who won't be seeing the weekend.

Despite the tightness of the fairways and undulating greens at the Evian Golf Resort, those atop the leaderboard at the Amundi Evian Championship have posted strong red-figure numbers during the first two rounds.

Leading the way is Somi Lee of Korea at 10-under par, followed by Grace Kim and Jennifer Kupcho at 9 and 8-under respectively.

There's a host of players sitting five shots back including world No.1 Nelly Korda, and top ranked amateur Lottie Woad, who's coming off a victory on the Ladies European Tour just days ago.

Woad is now just one point shy from earning her LPGA status through the LEAP program. After her round the 21 year old was keeping a positive mindset after firing a 2-under 69, "I feel like I'm feeling pretty confident after last week; know I'm playing well. You need to be confident round this golf course. It's pretty tight off the tee and some tricky pins. You just got to play like that."

Her former FSU teammate, Mirabel Ting, who made her pro debut at Evian suffered a different fate after going 78-73, missing the cut.

Other Big Names Who Missed the Cut at the Evian Championship

Yealimi Noh (75-70, 3-over)

Noh, a previous winner this season on the LPGA, tried to fight back to make the weekend but came up one stroke short.

Ruoning Yin (72-73, 3-over)

She was one of my players to watch heading into the week after such strong finishes at the first three majors. This is Yin's first missed cut of the year.

Linn Grant (72-73, 3-over)

It's been an up and down season for the Swede—who has now missed back to back major cuts.

In Gee Chun (70-75, 3-over)

The 2016 Evian Championship winner was another one who was so close to the cut line, but came up short. She'll have an opportunity to go for the career slam in a couple of weeks for the AIG Women's Open.

Carlota Ciganda (74-72, 4-over)

The Spaniard claimed her first win in nine years a couple weeks back, but fell a bit short this week.

Maja Stark (72, 74, 4-over)

In just her third LPGA start since her U.S. Women's Open win at Erin Hills, Stark's struggles continue. She finished T-47 at the last major in Frisco, hopefully we will see her in the mix at AIG!
