Comparing Wyndham Clark's Two U.S. Open Winning Bags

Two U.S. Open wins, two very different bags. Here's what changed between LACC and Shinnecock.

After a tough Sunday at Shinnecock, it was the 18-, 36- and 54-hole leader, Wyndham Clark, who ended up victorious at the 126th U.S. Open, after firing a final round 73. This was his second U.S. Open in 4-years and his second major championship. Since his first win at LACC, a lot has changed in Wyndham's world, including his approach to gear by becoming an equipment free-agent in 2026.

Here is how his equipment has evolved since 2023.

Driver

In 2023, Wyndham won using a Titleist TSi3, which at the time was a previous generation model. In 2026 he has moved into a TaylorMade Qi4D with a True Temper/Project X Titan shaft.

For a strong player who has built his game around playing a power fade, the combination of a handle stiff shaft and an extremely adjustable driver has played a key role in his success off the tee.

Fairway Woods

In 2023, Wyndham played with a single TaylorMade Stealth 2 3-wood, but in 2026, he has moved onto a more versatile long game setup that features a TaylorMade Qi4D Tour 3-wood, plus a Ping G440 Max 5-wood, a club that can really help bridge the gap into irons and increase stopping power from long range.

The 3-wood has a Project X HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 80, while the 5-wood has a shaft that matches his driver with a Project X Titan Black 80.

Goes to show that even at the highest level, there is nothing wrong with having extra stopping power in your longer clubs.

Irons

Much like with his 5-wood, Wyndham has gone from a set of Titleist 620 CB irons, which are a fully forged cavity back, to a mixed set of Titleist's T200 & T100 irons. He has also gone from using a 3-iron (T200) to having his longest iron being a 4-iron as part of his mixed set.

Thanks to their internal tungsten weighting and higher MOI, the T100s offer an advantage by providng much more stable spin windows on shoes hit around the face - which is even more helpful in windy conditions.

Wedges

When so many things change, many others stay the same. For Wyndham, that is his trust in Titleist Vokey Wedges, utilizing a 4-wedge SM11s over the pervious generation SM9 with a pitching wedge through lob wedge.

Clark's highest lofted wedge of choice is a Vokey SM11 60° L-Grind, which is a low bounce option that worked extremely well around the greens at Shinecock.

In 2023, Wyndham, along with his final round playing partner Rickie Fowler set off a chain of events that single-handedly brought the Odyssey Jailbird back into the mainstream.

Since than, and especially over the last 12-months, Wyndham has gone through several putters, but ended up in a PING Ally Blue Onset which has sent him on a tear that has included a number of high finishes including a win at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

What also makes Wyndham's putter swap unique is that it made him Ping's very first modern putter only contract player.

Ball

One more constant in Wyndham's bag is his choice of golf ball. At Shinnecock, just like at LACC, he trusted a Titleist ProV1X golf ball on his way to victory.
