The Gear Trend to Watch this Week at the U.S. Open

Following trends on the PGA TOUR is always interesting because, depending on the product category, you can seemingly follow live as certain pieces of gear get hot. From drivers to putters and even with certain shaft models, if a player is winning with a specific setup, you can expect to see a few others give a similar look a try.

Right now on the PGA TOUR, one of the hottest pieces of gear is the Titleist ProV1 golf ball. Leading into this week's U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills, they are riding a 9-week hot streak of winners using the ball that started at the RBC Heritage.

The 2026 U.S. Open also marks the 78th consecutive year that Titleist has been the number one golf ball at the National championship, among the longest running streaks for any piece of equipment leading at a major. Come Sunday, if a Titleist ball has the winning putt, the win streak will continue.
