Collin Morikawa's Winning Putter Has A Crazy Backstory

If it wasn't for two other golfers, there is a good chance Collin Morikawa might not have found the Spider putter he used to win at Pebble Beach.

To win at Pebble Beach, Collin Morikawa put on an incredible display of shotmaking with his irons, including a final approach to the 18th hole to help set up a winning birdie putt from just over a foot away.

But, if it wasn't for two other golfers, there is a very good chance Collin's winning putter might not have ever made its way into his bag in the first place. How is that possible, you might ask? Well, it happened because Collin got the custom S-Neck Spider from his friend Daniel Kitayama.

If that name rings a bell, it should, because Daniel's brother is a fellow PGA TOUR player, Kurt Kitayama, and Kurt was the original owner of the putter before passing it along to his brother, who then ended up giving it to Collin.

The slant style neck allows for more toe hang to help feel the putter square up at impact.
