TaylorMade’s R7 is BACK! This Time in Mini Form

Golfers are a nostalgic bunch, and TaylorMade designers are indulging that nostalgia with the launch of the R7 Mini driver

It’s no secret that mini drivers are having a moment. They’re useful for players of all skill levels and help make one of the hardest parts of a player's golf bag (the club after the driver) easier to hit off the tee.

Now, after having great success with tour players and the general public with their previous mini driver releases, TaylorMade is once again leaning into a nostalgic club to draw inspiration for their newest mini, the R7 - featuring the same 4-way adjustable weighting at the original but with an adjustable hosel and carbon crown.

"The R7 Quad Mini Driver is one of those projects that got everyone excited from the initial concept and being able to bring back one of the most iconic clubs in TaylorMade history (R7 Driver) was a dream come true," Chandler Carr, TaylorMade Product Manager, Product Creation said. "We couldn’t be more excited to continue setting the pace in the Mini Driver category."

Key Features

Adjustable weighting for flight and spin control - Just like the original, the R7 mini driver has 4 adjustable weights around the sole of the club to help golfers create shot shape bias and correction.

Infinity Carbon crown - By covering the largest area possible with carbon fiber, engineers are able to create more disgressionary weight to increase forgiveness and maximize adjustability.

Proven TaylorMade Technologies - Other key features include TaylorMade's adjustable hosel for lie and loft, TwistFace for reduced spin variation for shots hit around the face, and a speed pocket on the sole to help maintain ball speeds on shots hit towards the bottom of the face.

"The R7 Quad Mini Driver is the perfect canvas for innovation and style," Carr said. "Featuring four movable TAS (Trajectory Adjustment System) weights, our newest Mini Driver gives golfers the ability to adjust shot shape and maximize performance off the tee and from the deck. It also features our most trusted technologies like the Infinity Carbon Crown and Twist Face, providing the ultimate suite of playability and versatility in a single package."

The R7 Mini driver is now available for pre-order and will be in stores starting on May 1st for $480. It's available in 11.5° of loft in both right and left-handed, and 13.5° in right-hand only. The stock length is 43.75" and it comes with a specifically engineered Fujikura Speeder MD shaft.
