It was a poorly kept secret
hidden in plain sight—at the 2026 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, Ryan Fox was playing a "Prototype" Srixon RKT driver, 3-wood, and long iron, which together helped lead him to victory. Not to mention his elite pace of play.
Now, almost as quickly as Ryan Fox can address a putt, we've got all the info on,
not just the new iron he had in play, but also everything that went into his driver and fairways woods as Srixon officially launches its ZXi line of woods.
Inside The ZXi Drivers, Fairways, & Hybrids
Behind the literal face of the new ZXi RKT (it's ok, you can say "rocket") drivers is Srixon's RKT Face, which is designed to deliver more consistent ball speeds and spin profiles across all three new models:
ZXi RKT LS - Designed for golfers seeking a lower apexing and flatter ball flight, the RKT LS is built to help lower spin and offer the most compact profile of the three models.
ZXi RKT - Balanced for speed and forgiveness with the added ability to adjust heel- and toe-sided weights, to dial in ball flight and reduce dispersion.
ZXi RKT MAX - This high MOI (max forgiveness) driver is the most forgiving option Srixon has ever created and is designed for enhanced stability, with an added confidence boost off the tee.
The driver and its face system is powered by Srixon's proprietary VR-Titanium, which allows for greater flex and strength throughout the head.
Side Note - Srixon and Cleveland have seriously leaned into materials and process development to drive performance with things line Z-Alloy found in RTZ2 wedges, i-Forging used in the ZXi irons, and now VR-Ti for the drivers.
This has allowed engineers to push the i-Flex face structure and Rebound Frame further to increase flex and energy transfer.
Throughout testing, one of the most consistent themes we heard from players was the desire for more speed across a larger area of the face without giving up consistency," says Patrick Ripp, Srixon Tour Engineering Manager. "RKT Face was developed to answer that challenge. By combining several technologies into a single performance system, we were able to create a face that not only produces exceptional ball speed but does so more consistently across a wider range of impact locations.
The Final Piece
Beyond the refined profiles and technology designed to boost performance, the final piece of the RKT puzzle was to generate a more pleasing impact acoustic on shots hit around the face. Srixon is calling this AcoustiCore (because everything needs a cool sounding name), and in the simplest terms it's a new rib structure within the head along with a carbon crown tuned to deliver more solid frequencies preferred by professionals and amateurs alike.
Fairway Woods & Hybrids
The RKT tech package extends from the Srixon drivers and into the fairway woods and hybrids, with the 3-woods featuring carbon fiber crowns. The entire line offers adjustable hosels, i-Flex, and Rebound Frame.
