I'm Still Thinking About: Nelly Korda's Camo Pants

With links golf season upon us again, players are pulling out their layers, but none of them are topping the World No. 1's stealthy Nike cargo number from last summer.

Nearly 365 days ago, Nelly Korda pulled out the best golf fit of her pro career.

I remember it like it was just yesterday. I was refreshing Getty Images waiting for the latest batch of practice round photos to hit (like I do every major championship week), then, buried among the usual, uninspired joggers and quarter-zips, there she was. Clad in shades of muted greens and browns, but the star of the show came in the form of camouflage pants that somehow blended into the fescue at Royal Porthcawl while standing out from just about everything else.

I wrote about the fit almost immediately, calling her look the perfect blend of style and performance, and a year later, I'd argue that wasn't enough credit.

Because those pants weren't just cool—they felt like a turning point for the World No. 1.

It was her best fit by a country mile. It was cohesive, balancing a color palette that usually aligns with fall (and yet she expertly made it work for late July), and it felt right on brand for Korda, who up to that point, had quietly started experimenting with her practice round wardrobe.

We've begun to see her sprinkle in more lifestyle pieces over the last two seasons, and it has really, really worked well for her.

My initial story on the look drew comparisons to Michelle Wie West, a fellow Nike athlete who's style choices became a defining element of her career. But where Wie often pushed the envelope, Korda does something different—her style succeeds because of its restraint. She's not chasing trends, and yet she remains in vogue. She makes elevated basics feel aspirational, because in reality, not everyone can or wants to be loud and bold, or experimental with textures and hemlines.

What separates Korda's style from other wardrobes is that she's not trying to win the internet with an over-the-top look. Her best outfits feel attainable. They look like something you'd actually wear—on the course, grabbing lunch afterward, or running errands on a Saturday. The performance DNA is still there, but so is the lifestyle appeal. We often talk endlessly about versatility in golf style, but Korda is one of the few players who actually wears it convincingly.

Her AIG pants weren't a costume or a gimmick, it was simple, yet fun, and the perfect reminder that golf's modern style era is at its best when elite athletes don't have to check their personality at the door.
