There are so many things to look forward to this weekend with Tiger Woods teeing it up with his son Charlie at the PNC Championship. It’ll be the Woods’ duo fifth PNC together, creating a fun end-of-season tradition comparing their swings, mannerisms and iconic club twirls throughout the weekend. This year will be the first for Woods’ since the launch of Sun Day Red earlier this year—and just in time as the brand finally launched a golf shoe a few weeks ago to complete the on-course offering. Sun Day Red has gone through some (exciting) growing pains this year to get its collection to both embody Woods and what he represents to the game of golf and be ready-to-wear for golfers of every level. Led by Woods’ feedback, the design team had to go back to the drawing board a few times to get the core line right and the golf world was able to get snippets of each step as Woods wore prototypes at tournaments. Led by a lighter-weight version of its initial performance polo and a luxe cashmere moment, here’s a look at the brand through Woods’ PNC scripting the next few days at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club in Orlando.

Most of us have already seen today’s look after the father-son duo’s 9:40am tee time for the Pro-Am. Woods started the day in a charcoal cashmere crewneck that provided a strong and stylish contrast to his purple Sun Day Red Fairway Polo. The 3D Tour Cashmere Crew currently comes in seven color options and is a Woods’ favorite we’ll likely see him wear often—and he is scripting to wear everyday at the PNC. As cashmere does, it comes with a higher price point ($350), but the luxury of the item is immediately recognizable with hand-harvested cashmere yarn that won’t pill and will keep the piece looking new for seasons to come. The “3D” in the name refers to the construction process that knits the piece in three dimensions, without seams and a more precise fit than the creation of traditional knitwear. This creates a more comfortable fit, but also is a more efficient and sustainable method of garment production with wasted materials.

BUY NOWOther than the familial aspect and scramble format, PNC is unique in that we only have two tournament rounds to watch the pros compete. Woods’ navy scripting for Saturday encompasses a strong look for the first round of play AND what is typically moving day in golf. Part of Sun Day Red’s heritage line, this polo went through seven months of testing from Woods and a team of wear testers before the team (including Woods) were ready to release it to the public. It launched this fall and was the first golf shirt in the line to feature the Tiger-inspired tiger logo with its 15 stripes honoring each of his majors.
Woods will pair the micro-striped polo with a navy pant and layer over a navy iteration of the 3D Tour Cashmere Crew sweater, if the temperatures drop. It’s a classic and enduring look that’s easy to match with for almost any occasion or scramble partner.
As usual, Big Cat’s Sunday look is none other than red and black. Also not surprising, the red micro-striped polo he’s wearing is already sold out, but we’re expecting it to be a core item in the collection and are keeping an eye out for a restock in the new year. And if you want to copy his sweater look, you’ll have to wait a bit on that as well. The red colorway of his cashmere crew is not available for purchase—but hopefully will be included in an upcoming drop. While he’ll be wearing the Dynam Classic Pant and Pioneer Cypress Golf Shoes again, Woods’ is mixing it up with both in black for a clean and iconic Sunday Red Sun Day Red look to finish out the week. If you’re looking for a little extra personality on the shoe front, the brand released a limited edition version of the Pioneer Cypress that’s black with a hits of red incorporated through the stitching, at the top lace eyelet and in a paint splatter design at the heel.
