As Keith Mitchell heads into the final round at Shinnecock Hills sitting T6, there's another leaderboard he's occupied for years.
Best dressed.
The photos from this week tell the story. A navy cardigan layered over a white collar. Crisp cream trousers. A light blue knit popover paired with tailored navy pants. A white polo tucked into linen-blend trousers.

That's been the defining characteristic of Mitchell's partnership with Sid Mashburn since the relationship began nearly six years ago.
Back in 2022, Mitchell explained his approach in a way that felt refreshingly different from much of professional golf.
"I was the first person in a while who started by identifying what I wanted to wear, and making sponsorships work around that."
That quote has aged remarkably well.
At a time when much of golf apparel was moving deeper into synthetic fabrics, athletic cuts, and increasingly technical performance stories, Mitchell and Sid Mashburn explored another lane. One built around natural fibers, thoughtful tailoring, and garments that looked just as comfortable walking into a clubhouse dinner as they did navigating a major championship setup.
The assumption has always been that performance requires sacrificing some level of style. Mitchell's wardrobe has spent years challenging that idea.
Whether it's wool hopsack trousers handling changing temperatures, cotton piqué knit polos offering breathability, or soft layering pieces that move naturally throughout a round, the partnership has become one of golf's most compelling examples that performance doesn't have to come exclusively from polyester.
And perhaps that's why it feels especially relevant today.

As more brands begin revisiting texture, tailoring, natural materials, and a broader definition of what golf apparel can be, Mitchell looks less like an outlier and more like an early adopter.
The game may still be figuring out exactly where style is headed next, but standing on the fairways of Shinnecock this week, one thing feels increasingly clear:
Keith Mitchell and Sid Mashburn saw this conversation coming years ago.
