On Friday morning, Bethpage Black’s gates will open and thousands of rowdy New Yorkers will fill the grandstands that surround the first tee. It’s gonna be obnoxious. It’s gonna be vulgar. It’s gonna be awesome.
At least for Team USA.
For the Europeans, they’re gonna have to try and block out the noise and pray their skin is thick enough to protect them from some of the most passionate sports fans in the world. It’ll be a challenge, to say the least.
But Viktor Hovland, set to play in his third Ryder Cup, isn’t too worried about it—and the reason why is so Viktor.

“I think you've just got to stick to your game, and if you play well, you know, there's going to be some comments here and there,” he said. “They won't really come close to the thoughts that I have in my own head. So I think I'll just laugh it off for the most part. You know, just try to smile it off and make a few birdies. That usually seems to do the trick.”
He’s just the best.
