Tyrrell Hatton Says He Got 'Messy' Drunk After Making Team Europe

Tyrrell Hatton has been part of the last three Ryder Cups, compiling a 5-4-2 record for Team Europe that includes an undefeated 3-0-1 two years ago in Rome. Plus, his fiery attitude makes him a no-brainer choice for this kind of event.

However, he didn’t have to rely on a pick from captain Luke Donald this year, as he made it onto the squad as the sixth and final automatic qualifier.

This week, the LIV Golf member is playing in the DP World Tour’s BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, and he told the unbelievable story of the night he found out he made the team.

It was a bit of a dual celebration, as his LIV teammate, Jon Rahm, just captured the league’s individual title. His explanation of the night might bring back some college memories.

“We had a bit of a tear-up. Yeah, that was a messy night in the end…As I’ve woken up, I’ve got sick all down my arms, both sides, all down my shirt. I get off the bed, I walk round to the bathroom, look in the mirror, I’m like, ‘Oh my god.’ I’ve got sick in my face, in my beard.”
