Though the Augusta National Women's Amateur has become a marquee event every spring (and rightfully so), it isn't the only elite golf event for women's amateurs golf that you should know about.

Every other summer, since 1932, 16 young women have gone head-to-head in a Ryder Cup-like showdown, and for the select group chosen for this cross-Atlantic, biennial match, it has served as the launch pad to their careers. A few notable alumni are players like: Michelle Wie West, Jessica Korda, Stacy Lewis, Lexi Thompson, and Rose Zhang.

The Curtis Cup Match has long served as a preview of what’s to come in women’s golf, and the 2026 edition feels no different. Before these players even reach the LPGA, they’ll first represent the United States, Great Britain and Ireland in one of amateur golf’s most historic team competitions. (Curtis Cup is not to be confused with the junior Solheim Cup, which is only for young girls who are 18 and under, across Europe and the U.S. to compete in an international match play format.)

And the squad repping the red, white, and blue this year is stacked with some familiar faces. At a time when the amateur game is producing younger stars, deeper fields and more visibility than ever before, this year’s team reflects the sport’s rapidly evolving future: rising names already building professional-level resumes before turning pro.

World No. 1 Kiara Romero solidified her spot after earning the 2025 Mark H. McCormack Medal, which gets awarded to the top-ranked player in the WAGR rankings. Romero, along with Asterisk Talley, Farah O'Keefe, and 2022 ANWA champion Anna Davis were among the first four solidified for the roster.

O'Keefe, who is ranked 4th, was the second automatic qualifier behind Romero. The junior out of the University of Texas is having a breakout 2026, winning three collegiate events and being one of the favorites for this year's ANWA. She and Romero will both make their Curtis Cup debuts.

Asterisk Talley, a name who needs no introduction because her resume speaks for itself, has found herself back on the U.S. Curtis Cup squad after Megha Ganne declined her position on the team. Ganne, a senior at Stanford plans to turn professional before the event is held therefore frees up Talley to be the next one up.

This is huge for the Americans, not just because Talley is one of the most formidable players in the amateur game, but she comes with experience. This will be her second Curtis Cup appearance after competing in the 2024, where she defeated then-No. 1-ranked amateur Lottie Woad in the Sunday singles matches.

Anna Davis, junior at Auburn University, is another headliner. Davis was added to the team as a committee selection for her continued high-level performance. In addition to her electric win at ANWA four years ago when she was just 16 years old, Davis is now a two-time All-American and has won twice during the fall portion of the 2025-26 college season.

Rounding out the team of eight will be Kary Hollenbaugh of Ohio State, Jasmine Koo of USC, Avery Weed of Mississippi State, and Kelly Xu of Stanford.
