Photo Gallery: Early Sights from Oakmont on the First Day of U.S. Open Week

Folks, the U.S. Open is upon us.

In a few days, the best players in the world will begin their battle against Oakmont Country Club, and I have a funny feeling they might lose. This place looks like it’s going to be impossible. The rough is up, and the greens are lightning. The only thing that might save them a bit is that Pittsburgh has gotten some rain over the last few days, so it’s pretty soggy out there.

As for some of the early arrivals on Monday, World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is on property looking for the third leg of the Career Grand Slam. Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas were seen playing a practice round together—I know, shocker! Dustin Johnson, Collin Morikawa, Jason Day, Akshay Bhatia, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Daniel Berger were some of the other names seen at Oakmont early Monday.
