The U.S. Open hangover doesn’t last long on the PGA TOUR. This week, many of the biggest names in golf head to TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, for the Travelers Championship, the final Signature Event of the season before the FedExCup Playoffs begin to take shape.
The Travelers Championship has quietly become one of the TOUR’s strongest non-major events. It’s one of the most fan-friendly atmospheres on the schedule with a dramatic finish almost guaranteed each year. It's even won awards for how much fans love attending.
But before tournament play gets underway, there will be a little extra entertainment. On Tuesday, the Travelers Championship is introducing the 15 ½ Challenge, a clocked closest-to-the-pin competition between the pro and celebrities.
Top PGA TOUR pros will pair up with some of our favorite golf content creators to compete for $10,000 toward the charity of their choice.
Here's the lineup:
Scottie Scheffler and Roger Steele
Tommy Fleetwood and Tisha Alyn
Justin Thomas and Josh Kelley
Keegan Bradley and Julian Edelman
Format is simple: Earn one point for balls that land on the floating umbrella (and stay on) and 10 points for a hole-in-one. The team that finishes with the most points at the end of 15 ½ minutes wins. In the event of a tie, teams will move to a sudden death format.
Hosted by Carson Daly, the event is designed to bring together professional golf, creators, and celebrity personalities at one of golf’s favorite tour stops with a fun and modern format all while raising money for charity.
The challenge will be streamed live Tuesday June 23 at 2:00 PM ET on PGA TOUR’s YouTube, X, and FAST channels.
