Si Woo Kim Took a Page Out of Charley Hull’s Playbook at the PGA Championship

Major championships are stressful, especially at a monster of a golf course like Quail Hollow. There aren’t going to be very many wedge opportunities in Charlotte this week, and putting circles on the card with long irons isn’t exactly an easy task. To relieve some of that stress, Si Woo Kim is taking a page out of Charley Hull’s playbook.

Hull famously smoked cigarettes while signing autographs at last year’s U.S. Women’s Open and continued to do it during competitive rounds until she vowed to quit the habit earlier this year.

Kim is picking up the torch.

During the first round of the PGA Championship on Thursday, fans caught Kim taking a quick smoke break. The new People’s Champion.

Kim was 1 over through his first 14 holes, tied for 34th. The four-time PGA TOUR winner missed the cut at last year’s PGA.
