As the first round of the 107th PGA Championship gets underway, we'd like to take a moment to say, heck yeah PGA! Following in the footsteps of the Masters with their affordable concessions—the PGA of America took it a step further, offering free food and non-alcoholic bevs for every ticket purchased for this week’s major.
The all-you-can-eat inclusive ticket dates back to 2022 as the Championship+ ticket, but this is the first year that everyone on property has access to it.
When you think about it—all tickets really should include concessions.
This year's championship general admission tickets on average range from $200-400 depending on the day you're attending (that number could vastly increase, btw). After parking/ride share, hitting up the merch tent and other miscellaneous expenses you rack up going to any sporting event—when you're out in the sun, in that Carolina heat and humidity, you're going to need to keep your wits about it and stay hydrated.
And we're not alone, other folks are on board, too!
Another bonus? Juniors under the age of 15 get free entry with an adult. If you're in or around the Charlotte area, take the fam out for some golf!
Sadly, alcohol prices don't reflect those in Augusta, as a standard American lager will cost you about $15. For those who prefer wine, you'll need $14. And for specialty cocktails, that'll run you $20, add another $6 for a double and $5 for the take-home souvenir cup.
Nevertheless, if you're on site this week, take advantage of this unique and special opportunity! Hopefully other tournaments and events will follow suit—as for future PGA Championships...more of this.
