My goodness Lottie Woad.
In her first professional start, the 21 year old wasted absolutely no time in proving that she's a force to be reckoned with on the LPGA. Firing an opening round 67, Woad has a share of the lead at the Women's Scottish Open.
She's coming off of two very strong performances after winning the KPMG Women's Irish Open and then going on to play herself into contending at Evian (a major championship) to earn herself LPGA Membership.
The heater continues for Woad but she doesn't feel all that different. After her stellar opening round she said, "I mean, it didn't feel too different today. I think having all the experience I've had in majors and contending, gave me all I needed and didn't really have to change much."
She's steady. Her emotions don't float too high or drop too low. Her demeanor is perhaps the most impressive thing about her.
Playing alongside world No. 1 Nelly Korda and fan favorite Charley Hull, the young rising star didn't blink. She held her own. Korda said after their round, "She's had an amazing run the last couple weeks and deserves where she's at right now, and it's going to be exciting to se where her career goes."
The world No. 1 is teeing it up for the first time ever at the Women's Scottish Open, sitting just a stroke behind Woad and the other leaders, at 4-under par.
Sure there's a lot of time between now and Sunday, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Woad lifting that trophy.
