The first women’s major championship of the year didn’t exactly go to plan for these LPGA stars.
While Lexi Thompson and Minjee Lee are just three shots back heading into moving day, there’s plenty of star power leaving Carlton Woods a few days early.
The 36-hole cut came in at 2-over 146.
Notably, Nelly Korda birdied six of her last 11 holes on Friday to fight her way back into the weekend after an uncharacteristic first-round 77 set her off course.
Before we review those out of the running, let's give another round of applause to Yan Liu and her mysterious-yet-history-making albatross that propelled her to the top of the leaderboard after the second round. Yui's two (!!) on the par-5 eight hole makes her just the third golfer ever to card an albatross in a major, joining the likes of Gene Sarazen (1935 Masters) and Karen Stupples (2004 Women's British Open).
Ok, now back to your regularly scheduled trunk-slam programming...

Celine Boutier (72-75, 3 over)

Boutier stumbled on Friday, shooting a 3-over 75 that pushed her to the wrong side of the cut line. This is the Frenchwoman’s first missed cut of the season.
Charley Hull (75-73, 4 over)

Hull is ranked 10th in the world and had four straight top-30 finishes to begin her season. But she'll head home a few days early this week.
Lottie Woad (75-73, 4 over)

The No.1-ranked amateur in the world and current member of the Florida State golf team, Woad is heading home after rounds of 75-73.
Patty Tavatanakit (75-75, 6 over)

Tavatanakit had three top-20 finishes in four previous starts this season coming into the week, but this is her first MC.
Hannah Green (73-77, 6 over)

Green, the fifth-ranked player in the Rolex Rankings, entered the week with three top-10 finishes in five previous starts. This missed cut is surprising, to say the least.
Yealimi Noh (74-77, 7 over)

Noh won earlier this season at the Founders Cup in February, but the World No. 20 couldn't get much going in Texas.
Asterisk Talley (78-77, 11 over)

16-year-old Talley was the runner-up early this month at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, but struggled through the first 36 holes of the Chevron, posting rounds of 78-77.
