Xander Schauffele finally claimed his first major championship victory at last year’s PGA Championship, besting Bryson DeChambeau by a shot with a birdie on the 72nd hole. He’d go on to win his second just a few months later at the Open, but let’s focus on his win at Valhalla.
He’ll be the defending champion next week at Quail Hollow, which means it’s his turn to host the Champions Dinner.
And you’ll never guess what he’s gifting everyone in attendance.
“Pretty on brand, I guess, a humidor and some cigars,” he told the media Wednesday.
On brand, indeed.

Enjoying a nice stogey has become Schauffele’s go-to celebration after wins at team competitions, including the 2022 and 2024 Presidents Cups and the 2021 Ryder Cup. It isn’t a surprise he’s picked this up, his dad’s been doing it for ages.

I’m sure more than a few cigars will get sparked up if he goes back-to-back in Charlotte.
As for the menu, Schauffele's keeping it simple.
"I didn't go do anything unique," Schauffele said. "I'd say it was sort of middle of the road, a steak option, a fish option. I wanted everyone to be happy or to be able to eat whatever they'd like."
