In two days, Team USA will be complete. Captain Keegan Bradley is set to make his six captain’s picks on Wednesday, and there’s going to be never-ending discourse about what he should do—including him picking himself—until the roster is set in stone.
Bradley had another great showing at the TOUR Championship over the weekend, shooting rounds of 70-64-63-70 to finish in a tie for seventh. It was his first top-10 finish since his win at the Travelers Championship, but second straight top-20 outing.
The U.S. captain spoke with Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis at East Lake on Sunday, and gave us a glimpse into what he’s thinking of doing come Wednesday, saying, ““There is probably going to be a few guys that think they are going to be on the team that aren’t going to be.” He added that the phone calls he’ll have to make are going to be “awful.”
Nos. 7-12 in the U.S. rankings as of Monday morning are Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Ben Griffin, Maverick McNealy, Bradley, and Brian Harman.
We’ll have to wait and see who he leaves off, but it’s crazy to think that just two years ago, he was the one being left off of Team USA.
