Rory McIlroy became the sixth player in the history of golf to complete the Career Grand Slam last month at the Masters, his fifth major championship win and first since 2014.
It was a BIG day for the history of golf.
Well, Jordan Spieth can follow in his footsteps next week at Quail Hollow for the PGA Championship, the lone leg of the Slam Spieth is yet to win.
On Tuesday at Philadelphia Cricket Club, the hosts of this week’s Truist Championship—formally known as the Wells Fargo Championship—McIlroy and Spieth shared a great exchange on the range, according to GOLF.com’s Jack Hirsh.
The Texan congratulated the Northern Irishman on joining the Green Jacket Club, and McIlroy told him it’ll be his turn next week. Spieth replied…
“Yea, at Rory McIlroy Country Club.”

I checked, and that’s pretty good.
Since tying for third at the 2019 PGA, Spieth hasn’t cracked the top 25.
We’ll see if the most exclusive club in golf accepts a new member next Sunday in Charlotte.
