For the second time, Jim Furyk is expected to be named the captain of the United States Ryder Cup team, according to Doug Ferguson of the Associated Press. Mr. 58 led the Americans into the 2018 matches in Paris, falling to Thomas Bjorn and company, 17½-10½. And 2027 may be his call now.
Since Bethpage Black, the feeling around golf was that Tiger Woods would lead Team USA into Adare Manor in 2027. But the 15-time major champion took his hat out of the ring following his car accident in March, eventually leading the Ryder Cup committee to choose Furyk, according to the AP.

Since serving as captain in 2018, Furyk has been a vice captain in three straight Ryder Cups. He knows firsthand what this group of Europeans is capable of and understands the challenge that Luke Donald’s squad will bring come next September in Ireland.
Furyk has his hands full, but his experience in this event was no doubt a major factor in this decision.
