Evian was Jeeno's to win, and Then Came Grace Kim

Grace Kim hit the shot of her life to force a playoff—and then hit two more en route to win her maiden major.

Are you not entertained?!

What we just saw from the final round of the 2025 Evian Championship was major championship golf at it's finest. An amateur applying pressure and ultimately securing her future on the LPGA, a playoff forced on the 18th, clutch shots—the drama was firing on all cylinders. Take a bow Grace Kim, this win was well deserved.

Kim hovered around the top of the leaderboard all week long, beginning the day tied for third behind Cara Gainer and Gabi Ruffels. But she really brought her best stuff in the final stretch, playing the last four holes in regulation in 4 under to get into a playoff with the world No. 2 Jeeno Thitkul. This is her second LPGA title, and first major title.

The Aussie played the 18th hole at Evian Golf Resort eagle, birdie, eagle to defeat Thitikul in style—who looked to be in the driver's seat when she nearly holed her approach on the 17th to take the outright lead over amateur Lottie Woad (who just secured her LPGA card). A victory today would make the Thai player the No. 1 player in the world.

It wasn't that Thitikul lost it—Kim absolutely won it. And it all started with her approach on the par 5 18th, ball below her feet, 190 yards to the pin, Kim hit one of the best shots of the LPGA season.

“I couldn’t breathe,” Kim said on the 18th green when asked how she kept her composure. “I couldn’t really see. I was like, ‘is it dead straight?’ Yeah. I’m hitting the putt. Glad it went in the hole.”

With a tap in eagle, the 24 year old forced a playoff, which got off to a shaky start.

After finding the water, Kim holed a chip for birdie, forcing Thitikul to drain a birdie putt of her own to extend the playoff to a second hole.

And the magic didn't stop there. She drained an eagle putt to secure the win.

Kim becomes the third consecutive player to earn her first major at Evian, joining Ayaka Furue (2024) and Celine Boutier (2023)—and the second Aussie in a row to win a major this season—Minjee Lee who finished T-3 won the KPMG Women's PGA just last month.

"Again, this is unbelievable. Didn't really know I was going to be sitting here this soon. I saw there is a picture of Karrie as you walk into the locker room, walking down 18 as well, so seeing that each day is motivating," Kim said in her winning presser.

"Obviously Minjee's first major was this one and this is now mine as well. I'm not sure when it'll sink in for sure, but, yeah, this is incredible."
