Pebble Beach. The name alone carries weight, etched in history by the roar of unforgettable moments from Tiger Woods. But when you step to the first tee, all of that fades away. And what you're left with is the sound of the ocean and your own heartbeat.
This isn't a round. It's a rite of passage. Every hole is a painting. Every green a stage, every bunker a test. You don't conquer Pebble Beach. You survive it. And when you walk off the 18th sun setting behind you, you don't think about your score. You think about how lucky you are just to have played it.

Earlier this year, the Skratch team traveled to the Monterey Peninsula on the Northern coast of California to experience the coveted golf destination and all it has to offer.
Our team was inspired after listening to New York sports radio's Boomer Esiason and Greg "Gio" Giannotti on WFAN's morning show discuss the lengths they would go to cross Pebble Beach off their golf bucket lists. And thus the Pebble Beach Showdown was put into motion. A few short months later, it was our Nicole Rae and Ian Herbert pitted against Boomer and Gio in a 2v2 best ball match played across the most iconic holes at Pebble Beach and Spanish Bay.
We won't spoil the final result but you can watch the full showdown presented by Titleist, here:
Now we know that not everyone will have the opportunity to play a match with an NFL MVP or cherry pick their favorite holes to play across the Resort's four 18-hole courses, but the course is open to the public and with the right planning, is more than attainable for any golfer to visit.
"One of the best things about Pebble Beach Golf Links is that it’s a public course, and it actually feels like it, too. This isn’t the country club experience that one might imagine it to be. It’s a lot more like the Old Course than it is Augusta National. Locals walking their dogs around the property, tourists visiting from far and wide to shop, grab a bite and look around—and that certainly doesn’t water down the experience. You’re met with this sense of community rather than individuality. And whether you’re fortunate enough to be playing there, or just watching the world’s best do the same, it’s crazy how one golf course can overfill you with so much joy and gratitude..." When you come to Pebble Beach, there's one course you can't miss: The Hay. Redesigned by Tiger Woods in 2021, this nine-hole short course was built with golfers of all levels in mind. With holes that can be played using any club, a replica of the iconic 7th hole at Pebble Beach and a 20,000 square-foot putting green, The Hay is a must-play during your trip to Pebble Beach.
"It's a huge honor to be able to add my name to this facility and this complex," Tiger Woods said. "I just want to be able to have options. I want to be able to putt off every tee. I want to be able to hit fancy shots, curve it around structures, especially bump-and-run it. That's what I love about playing overseas and links golf, I love using the ground and all my short courses have that ability." Watch Skratch's full feature on The Hay at Pebble Beach, here.
