At THE PLAYERS This Weekend? Don't Sleep on These Local Spots

We fell in love with these places in 2025, and we're running them back this year!

Ah, The PLAYERS.

This legendary week may not be a major but it does offer up some major vibes as one of the best weeks on the PGA TOUR calendar.

As good as the tournament is every year, there's also a lot to be said about what goes on once you leave the realm of TPC Sawgrass. Ponte Vedra and the surrounding areas have melded its staples, golf and beaches, to curate a haven of quaint hidden gems that make you never want to leave. Indulgent-worthy restaurants, cozy cafes, beach-front munis—there's a little something for everyone. Certified by a few JAX Beach locals and frequent flyers of the tournament, here's where we're hanging out during PLAYERS weekend and you should too.

For a Beachfront Pick Me Up: Sago Coffee

Our go-to spot last year was Show Pigeon Cafe located inside the Hotel Palms, but sadly the boutique coffee spot has closed. And while we mourn the loss of one local legend, we embrace another small business native to the area, Sago.

It's a bit north of Sawgrass in Jax Beach, but well worth the trip because their matcha is certified delish.

This spot is also a great place to kill time, catch up with a friend, or work out of. There's plenty of places to sit, sip, and refuel.

For a Quick Round: Jax Beach Golf Club

Sometimes watching golf just isn't enough. If you're looking to satiate your golf bug fix—check out a cool little muni just eight miles from TPC Sawgrass. Just a few blocks from the beach, this course is a great stop if you're looking for a casual afternoon round for under $100.

Must-Have Reservation Spot: Palm Valley Fish Camp

Boy oh boy. If you're in need of a true seafood experience—this is the place.

There are a couple of Fish Camp locations, one in Ponte Vedra near Sawgrass and the other about 10 miles north near Atlantic Beach. Where ever you can grab a reservation...do it. And even if you don't snag one, it's worth the wait.

The menu is overwhelming because the options are just that good, but trust us, you'll want to start with the fried gator tail and be sure to end with that fresh bread pudding that is so decadent it practically melts in your mouth.

Post-Dinner/Golf Happy Hour: Pete's

IYKYK! The hottest place to be at the end of the day? Pete's Bar, baby!

There's truly no words to describe the aura of this place, you simply have to experience it for yourself. Grab your friends and run, don't walk to Pete's for the best night out.

A True Staple of South Eastern Cuisine and the Vibiest of all Vibes: Waffle House (but only on Beach Blvd)

This one is pretty self explanatory. After you hit up Pete's you're probably going to want a late-night bite and the obvious choice is Waffle House, but only the one on Beach Blvd. Waffle House is a place that brings you together and feeds your soul. It's the only acceptable place to drink chocolate milk as an adult—and let's be real, you won't find friendlier folk than the staff at Waffle House.
