The Story Behind Finding Happy Gilmore’s Swing Double

There are so many great behind-the-scenes stories around Happy Gilmore 2, but the journey of finding Adam Sandler's swing double is one of the best.

Happy Gilmore 2 posted the biggest United States opening for a Netflix film—ever. So, I think it’s safe to say that it’s been a smash hit.

I mean, it’s tough to beat Adam Sandler in anything. But it’s even tougher when he returns as one of the most iconic movie characters ever to grace the big screen, along with all his pals. Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Jack Nicklaus, Bryson DeChambeau, Travis Kelce, and Nelly Korda were just some of the cameos. Hell, Eminem is in this thing! If you haven’t seen it yet, you’re welcome for your weekend plans.

Anyway, for HG2, Sandler needed a swing double, and the story behind finding the right one is pretty awesome.

Pro Shop head honcho Chad Mumm told the tale on this week’s episode of Skratch’s Vanity Index podcast, and it’s a must-listen.

If you haven’t listened to Vanity Index yet, don’t worry, it’s available wherever you get your podcasts or on the Skratch YouTube channel.
