Comedy has this way of being the tool we use to say the hard things. It's not just adding the uncomfortable fake laugh after saying something lowkey mean, but truly finding humor and irony in the hard lessons life will seemingly throw your way without warning.

To have the ability to laugh is grounding. It's such a visceral reaction that one really good laugh, especially shared with others, is almost euphoric.

And sometimes the funniest thing can be born out of the darkest of moments.

The genesis of the character "Entitled Housewife" began during the saturnine days of the pandemic, when Becky Robinson went back home to Oregon to quarantine with her parents. The days and weeks blurred together with the help of morning merlot, and Robinson felt a bit lost.

She was putzing around her family's home when she uncovered these wigs, which unlocked this character that would quickly become something hundreds of thousands of women could relate to, but most importantly, laugh at.

But not laugh at in the sinister middle school bully kind of laugh at, but in more of a solace and solidarity way. The Entitled Housewife persona is relatable—we all know that woman or someone eerily similar.

Her uniform, equipped with athleisure and AirPods, is humorously accurate. Her make-believe family that includes her husband Scott and kids Dashiell and Macabee are omni-present in her content. And who Entitled is and what she represents hits home for so many women because she's saying everything we wish would could say—Robinson's comedic timing is just better.

So how does golf fit into the picture? Well for her entire life, Becky Robinson has been an athlete. She was a competitive gymnast for years. Her dad is a scratch golfer and always wanted his daughter to enjoy the game he loves, but it just wasn't quite her speed for a long time.

"My dad is a huge golfer, you know, he's a scratch golfer," Robinson told Skratch. "He played in college, he got a scholarship, he didn't grow up in money. And so he's like, golf is a way that I could, you know, get a job and like make my way in business."

"He just takes [golf] very seriously. And he wanted me to take it seriously too," Robinson continued. "I did competitive sports growing up. But when it came time to learn golf, I was in such high level competitive sports that I was like, if I'm going to golf, like, I would love it for it to be fun."

Robinson wanted to create a space in golf where noise level didn't matter. What you wore wouldn't get you in trouble. Golf's come a long way from the traditional motif, but those antiquated rules are still hindering—especially for women.

It's been three years in the making. A namesake golf tournament that would be everything that Robinson couldn't be or didn't see in the golf space before. "I've just gone to a lot of golf tournaments and I was like, these are really cool, but I just kind of wanted to put my own spin on it. And, you know, I said what if I made this funnier and a little crazier," Robinson explained.

She didn't know exactly how to make it happen, but she knew that she wanted to bring in her friends and people she cared about, like Tisha Alyn, to elevate this thing to be seismic. All things grandiose, nothing would be off limits.

So Robinson and her small army—who after meeting them, I would actually trust with my life—curated the ultimate four-day trip for the gieurlz. And it sure was—equipped with cocktails, male models, transforming a golf course to be a mecca of fabulousness, and a whole lot of laughs in between.

This wasn't just any old golf tournament, this was an experience. One that the women on the trip will take with them for the rest of their lives but definitely not tell their grandkids about. What happens on the girls trip to Tulum, stays there.

There's something that happens at my shows where there's a certain group of people that come together and there's just like a level of camaraderie and friendship and bringing each other up and also giving each other the permission to just like, do whatever the fuck you want.

We were lucky enough that Nicole Rae, our director of social media, is in the Entitled universe orbit and as a fan of Robinson, she knew that this is the exact kind of trip that Skratch would want to cover. I mean it was a no brainer.

This superstar content creator has built up this insane following (more than 700,000 on Instagram), so much so that she was empowered to host an international trip and golf was at the forefront. It's smack dab in the center of the game we love intersecting with culture—and it's aimed specifically toward women—the cherry on top.

So we got our tails on a plane to Mexico, not anticipating a massive country-wide travel nightmare, but hey, we'd do it again in a heartbeat, because our resort looked like this.

The Conrad Tulum was the most perfect backdrop for this excursion. If HBO's "White Lotus" was considering doing a Mexico-based season, this would be their set.

The cobblestone porte-cochère opens up to a modish lobby, and as soon as you exit your vehicle you're met with the most delightful woodsy fragrance. I'm not sure if it was incense or burning something to keep the jungle insects at bay—but whatever it was, it was lovely.

We we greeted with a welcome elixir that was equal parts refreshing and tasty before getting ushered to our rooms on golf carts.

The Conrad is a huge property and it took the entirety of the first day for me to get acclimated, but hey, I wasn't complaining. Each and every crevice was like a life-size advent calendar, I didn't know what to expect next but with every step I took, I loved it more and more.

The property is equipped with 11 restaurants and bars combined, five restaurants and six bars, offering a variety of cuisines such as Mediterranean, Japanese, and Mexican. There appeared to be even more pools and hot tubs, along with a beachfront views.

The only thing we didn't get to indulge in was the world class spa that offers dozens of services. From massages to facials, it would be impossible to not leave that place in a puddle of bliss.

But I couldn't be too upset about missing out on the spa treatments when Becky and Co. has developed a jam-packed itinerary for us.

You see what I mean? Jam-packed.

The welcome party felt like a fever dream. The DJ played hits from my high school homecoming dance. The bartenders understood the heavy-pour assignment, and Becky—well let's just say our hosting diva made one hell of an entrance with male models in tow.

"The Scotts" inspired by her Entitled character's husband, were a group a lovely boys whose only jobs were to look hot and keep us hydrated. (They kept tequila in their hands at all times, we had to run away several times.)

The first day was a blur of fun and getting to know everyone before the really party began.

Day two brought on the golf adventure. Just a few minutes down the road from the resort lies Tulum Country Club, where the PGA Riviera Maya course is held. The host venue of the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour's Tulum Championship.

But there was a twist.

It wasn't Tulum Country Club anymore. The entire thing was taken over and turned into the Entitled Housewife Clubhouse. The pro shop was fully transformed and featured brands like Alyn Golf, True Linkswear, PXG, and Bad Birdie. There was a wellness station for us girls to get hydration/recovery IVs and massages and facials after our rounds. Sexy sports cars greeted us at the front, and we all got our photo ops.

The entire place was shut down just for the occasion. No outsiders were allowed, we had complete and total free reign of the place—and man did we have a ball.

It was a four-woman scramble format, playing 18 holes over two days—and dare I say, the perfect amount of golf, especially when there's a pool cabana and a margarita with my name on it waiting for me.

Entitled was riding around in her cart of chaos, bringing the energy and tequila to each group. The different brands and sponsors has their own designated holes—Skratch was posted up on the 4th and 14th holes.

I've never experienced having a championship caliber course completely at my mercy.

We were like little kids in a candy shop, and mom and dad weren't looking. It was golf without bounds. If you wanted a mulligan you took it. If you wanted to improve your lie ever so slightly, your playing partners encouraged it. The prizes at the end didn't matter, we were all so caught up in the moment of enjoying ourselves and this epic display of a women's golf utopia.

No one yelling at you to pick up the pace or asking to play through. We let our hair down, played our music loud and just vibed.

Being around golf for quite literally my entire life, I can say will absolute certainty that there was nothing better than this. It felt like Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" movie but make it golf. Us girls were the main characters, and the guys who were there took the backseat with pleasure.

Every detail was done with the intent to make the women on this trip feel special. No one was an afterthought. When I asked Becky what she wanted them to takeaway from the trip she simply said, "The best weekend of their lives."

"A bunch of them have come up and said, you don't know how bad I needed this. The past year has been awful. I'm going through a divorce. I have stage three breast cancer. Like, there's just so many things...and they've just come together and they've been like, I haven't laughed this hard in so long and just, like, let myself feel free," she continued.

This is more than just mom's weekend away. For a lot of them this was that one vacation a year or every two years that they've been counting down the minutes for. It was a break from a reality that has felt really, really heavy as of late, but through two things that bring people immense joy, golf and comedy, a community has been forged.

"I talk like I know, I have kids in character, but I have so much respect for these women and the things that they juggle with a smile on their face somehow. There's a certain sense of humor women have because they do so much, they're doing it all, all the time. And no one acknowledges it a lot of the time."

Some of the women came with their lifelong friends. There were mommy/daughter duos on the trip. No matter how they came or who they came with there was a shared experience we all walked away with.

On the last night, Becky and Entitled performed a private comedy show just for us and she opened up about how this trip gave her like 40 new friends, and she got a touch emotional because when she started this whole character she wasn't the happiest.

But five years later, with nothing but a wig and a dream, she's grown a girl gang that stands with her vehemently.

If you're looking to dive into the world of Entitled and want to get to know about Becky, her stand up special, "Becky Robinson: Entitled" is now live for your viewing and laughing pleasure.
