Everyone and Their Mother Caught the Golf Bug This Summer

While it's been one hell of a summer season for professional golf—some of our favorite stars have been hitting the links and have seemingly caught the highly infectious golf bug.

Symptoms include: shivers and shanks, credit limit blindness, a sudden and persistent hankering for hot dogs, tan lines you wouldn't believe, and the immediate need for two closets.

All jokes aside, as a true lover of the game (and sports, period), it's been so cool to see the different athletes and celebrities I follow on social spreading the good gospel of golf. Folks are catching on that it's not just a pastime for older generations. The archetype of golfers is morphing into something more contemporary, and dare I say...voguish?

To golf now, is to be trendy. And man, I didn't think I'd ever see the day. (Cue the Paul Rudd meme!) Here's a running list of famous folks I've seen teeing it up this summer.

Lebron and Bronny

Around the Fourth of July, King James blessed our feeds with his budding golf journey.

Swinging hard and talking shit—this is what the people want to see! Even Bronny is getting in on the bit.

Perhaps this is the precursor for what's to come when the G.O.A.T decides to hang up the jersey, or perhaps this is just another example of a winner just loving to compete.

Kevin Hart

Another king, whether of buddy comedy movies with The Rock or of the short kings (you decide), has also been flexing how he's been spending his down time—ripping drives off the back of a yacht.

If you need another travel buddy, Mr. Hart—I'm available!

Justin Bieber

Between dropping one of the albums of the summer and working on his new golf-inspired brand SKYLRK, Biebs has been making it known that he's serious about this thing.

He's even been posted up with Dr. Chipinski aka Min Woo Lee. They were seen kicking it at JB's album launch party in July.

Carlos Sainz and Rafa

Formula One driver Carlos Sainz isn't a stranger to the game, and neither is his compatriot Mr. Nadal. And I'd just like to say, since the last time we've seen Rafa on the course—the fit is better—not significantly, but better.

That back swing is still terrifying though.

The two Spanish sports icons were spotted playing a round together during the F1 summer break. And let me be the first to say, I would've streamed this match...*cough cough* Netflix Cup take two?!

Carlos Alcaraz

After back-to-back slam final appearances at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, Carlitos hit the course to decompress.

Where was his invite, Carlos and Rafa? Let's make it happen!

Emma Raducanu

Just this week, the 2021 U.S. Open champion shared that she's been getting a few rounds on the course between her time on the courts.

Her swing is beyond solid. Maybe her bestie and mixed doubles partner Alcaraz has been giving her some pointers?

Pookie and Jett

Campbell aka "Pookie" and Jett Puckett are no strangers to golf. From appearances at The Masters to casual golf dates—the internet's most beloved couple finds ways to bond on the course, and we're obsessed.

I'm also a huge fan of how Campbell always seems to be rocking the same golf brands that I know and love. In this video, she's sporting Del Campo smiley socks—she's one of us!

Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson

After hard-launching their relationship this summer, rap star and certified diva Megan Thee Stallion and NBA star Klay Thompson have been proving to us that they are the ultimate couple goals.

Captain of the hot girls posted a seven-minute long vlog to her socials capturing their cute little golf date, with Thompson picking out her outfit! Fellas, take notes. (But next time Klay, feel free to use my list of the best brands for the girlies, okay?)

I'm going to need more golfing content from these two before basketball season comes barreling in.

Christian Pulisic

The American soccer star is actually dating Epson Tour player Alexa Melton, and she's been getting him dialed.

While the two are hanging around Italy, where Pulisic plays, Melton is making sure to feed us with the proper golf content. To which we all say in unison, 'thank you Alexa'!

Jalen Brunson

NYC's finest pulled up to NY Knicks star Jalen Brunson's charity golf tournament—and all I want to know is how to get an invite for next year!

The left-handed baller also plays golf that way and his swing is silky.

Boman Martinez-Reid

Better known as Bomanizer on TikTok pulled up to the Creator Classic during TOUR Champ week and did what he does best—be an absolute diva.

The Canadian comedian has become a viral star for making parody reality TV bits, mainly for shows like The Kardashians and Love Island.

Despite not physically picking up a club, he stole the show and I actually am going to need more on course Boman content soon.

He wasn't the only star that East Lake brought out, Usher and Rick Ross were also spotted in ATL!

Katt Williams

Not only is he one of the funniest people on the planet, but Katt Williams is also kind of a stick.

But the real magic lies in his words, which is why he was made an on-course corresponder at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis.
