It's been a while, but we're so back. Baddies, tap in!
When I first started Addie's Baddie's during the inaugural season of TGL, I wanted it to be a discovery tool for the golf-adjacent person. Someone who isn't all that logged on but still wanted a slight pulse on the what's what and who's who in our sport. (Sorry sickos, this one thing isn't necessarily for you, but I do hope you still get a good kick out of the content.)

And let's be sincere for a moment, the indoor golf league really has been such a great gateway into seeing more personality-driven, relatable content from the best men's golfers in the world. This isn't about views or ratings, sometimes the internet chatter is enough to be considered culturally relevant, and TGL is still doing exactly that. Pretty soon, the women will get their chance to shine in primetime and you bet I'll be sat for that.

Being able to hear the camaraderie between these athletes and team game play dynamic is the true bread and butter of TGL and I finally got the opportunity to experience the fun in real life—and let me tell you—it was better than what I had imagined it to be.
I made the journey down to West Palm Beach to the illustrious SoFi Center, which I was not expecting to be on the campus of a college, but hey! It didn't change the fact that the building and the space is cool AF.

As a broader sports fan, I love going to sporting events in person. NFL, NBA, tennis, soccer, you name it, I'm there. The walk up to the SoFi center reminded me of going to a basketball game inside an arena. All the fans marching in, grabbing their drinks and snacks before making their way to their seats. And with the seating capacity of 1,500, there really isn't a bad seat in the house.
But let's get into the real juicy stuff, the reason you're reading this article—the Baddie Lineup.
I was blessed to attend back-to-back double headers featuring the Atlanta Drive, LAGC, Boston Common and The Bay Golf Club.
Night one saw a a line up of Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, and Chris Gotterup vs. Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, and Michael Thorbjornsen for the first match, and then Tommy Fleetwood, Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose vs. Billy Horschel, Lucas Glover, and Cantlay again for the second.
And let me tell you...Justin Rose shocked the hell out of me! That man's charisma is off the charts. I've always been a fan of Rosie, he just gives off such great energy, but my goodness. He's so kind and intentional with the fans, he shot up my radar real quick.

Gotterup was another one who surprised me in the best way. His dainty little gold chains with the top two buttons on his polo undone, exposing a little chest is a power move. Dare I say...he gives me a Brooks Koepka vibe? There's some undeniable swagger to him...he has potential to be a baddie one day, and likely sooner rather than later with the way he's collecting wins.
Night two brought on some different energy, because there where two players that I've been eagerly waiting for. Adam Scott, who is like the OG of the golf baddies, and my king, the man who inspired this whole thing, Ludvig Åberg.
Mr. Scott pulled up to the SoFi Center in a monochromatic sweatsuit situation that I'm applauding just because he looks good in anything.
But if I'm being honest once I knew that Ludde was going to be there, it was kind of game over.
The level of aura he possesses is just too powerful, especially because it's like not even the classic cool boy kind, he's like slightly shy and awkward and it's endearing as all get out. But then when he's hitting a golf ball it's like a switch flips and he's the coolest MF around.

Seeing him, in this environment up close only re-affirmed my beliefs about his potential to be golf's Joe Burrow. And it's not just because if Åberg could play any football position, it'd undoubtedly be quarterback, it's really because at his core, his calm, cool, and collected demeanor is enticing to fans everywhere.
The 6'3 Swedish Machine is just as magical in person as he is on TV, and I don't anticipate anyone knocking him off my pedestal anytime soon...but that doesn't mean more guys shouldn't try!
