In the direct-to-consumer golf market, irons are the king of the castle when it comes to sales volume, but volume doesn't always relate to quality, nor does it translate to customization.
This is what makes New Level Golf different. Since its inception in 2017, New Level Golf's focus has been on delivering quality, customizable, one-piece forged irons at great prices, with all assembly taking place in their Scottsdale Arizona, build shop, which is why I can't stop thinking about them.
The New Level 702CB irons are the middle option of the newest 702 series, which also includes a larger cavity back (the 702CB+) and a blade (the 702MB).

Like most modern iron families, the 702 line from New Level has been designed to offer seamless blending between three sets for maximum performance (something you don't find from many DTC brands). All three of the models deliver a modern shape with tungsten positioned in the toe to boost MOI and increase stability on off-center strikes.

As far as technology is concerned, the tungsten positioned out on the toe is about as far down the technology rabbit hole that New Level designers go with the 702 line, but that's a feature, not a bug. The goal is not to reinvent the wheel, it's to make the best darn wheel possible, while using classic wheel manufacturing techniques. Okay, maybe I went a little far with that analogy, but that means making great forged irons built on delivering looks, feel, and forgiveness—in that order.
From a quality and build perspective, I got exactly what I was expecting from the 702CB irons and believe that any golfer who custom orders a set would receive the same thing. From lies and lofts to swing weight and finishing, my New Level set was bang on, which is something I can say I have not experienced from some of the major DTC brands.
As for performance, the 702CB (and, to be honest, the rest of the line) provides the type of feel and feedback you would expect from a single one-piece forged iron, except at a price and customization level well below what you'd probably ever expect.
