When it comes to winning percentage on the PGA Tour in 2026, the TaylorMade Spider is currently on a generational run. So far, a TaylorMade Spider has been used by the winner of 5 of the 6 tournaments this season and shows no sign of slowing down.

It should be noted that the TaylorMade Spider was also the most winning putter on the PGA Tour in 2024 and 2025, but 2026 is different (so far) because only one of the wins belongs to Scottie Scheffler when he won at the American Express. The other wins belong to Chris Gotterup, who won both the Sony Open and the WM Phoenix Open, Collin Morikawa, who won at Pebble Beach, and Jacon Bridgeman, who won most recently at the Genesis Invitational.

It's actually hand to think back to a time when one putter had such a huge impact on the PGA Tour.
Of course there are other brands that have had some big time success like Odyssey and Scotty Cameron, but for one model line to have success like the Spider is almost unheard of.
It also makes me wonder if as much as low torque putters, have seen success at the recreational level with regular golfers, if the trend has started to run it's course on the PGA Tour, with former zero-torque users like Rickie Fowler, Jason Day, Justin Rose, and Collin Morikawa going away from that style and back to more traditional toe hand or face balanced designs.

Herein lies the biggest question when it comes to the Spider and its success: what will it take to overthrow this impressive win rate?
As of right now, 6 of the world's top ten and 4 of the top 5 in the OWGR are using a TaylorMade spider, including two of the most winning golfers of the last 24 months - Scottie Schellfer and Rory McIlroy.
With their success showing no sign of slowing down, and more players putting a Spider into play, I feel that it could be quite some time before we see this trend slowing down.
