Yesterday started out like most regular Tuesdays until the folks over at Scotty Cameron came along and decided to figuratively drop a cow into a cage of velociraptors by announcing the limited edition H25 putter across their social channels.
The putter sent Scotty Cameron fans into a feeding frenzy, just like the unfortunate cow did in Jurassic Park.

Sorry, but I'm not going to apologize for a Jurassic Park reference from 1993 - it's still the best one of the entire franchise, and a classic.
But, speaking of classics and getting back to the whole Scotty Cameron puttter thing, the Limited Edition H25 Newport 2, which I should note will hit retail stores this Friday (if they haven't already been presold to eager collectors) is kinda like 2015's Jurassic World. It's new, it's shiny, people are going to line up to see is, and for hardcore fans, once to really dive in, you notice all kinds of fun details that reference the classics.
As much as I could zealously discuss every last detail of the Scotty Cameron H25 NP2, I thought it might be best to offer up my top-3, and see if you can spot any others yourself.

This one is so obvious I shouldn't be allowed to mention it, but it's these dots that tell you right from the start that this is a Tei3 putter, kinda like how you know a Jeep is a Jeep thanks to the grill. Like the one below featured in Jurassic Park - you know, just before they see the Brachiosaurus for the first time - cue the John Williams score.

Sure, Scotty Cameron did the Tei3 Button Back, but the cavity dots (originally used to help damped vibration) are the real sign you're dealing with something special.
In what I believe is a nod to the Studio Select series, which debuted in 2008, the sole of the H25 features 3 side-by-side dots.

These dots, which actually debuted out on the PGA TOUR on circle T putters in the early 2000s came to be thanks to Scotty's love of classic hot rods and were inspired by car intakes.

These dots not only told everyone you were using a Scotty Cameron, it also make them extremely easy to spot during TV coverage, which only helped to make them even more popular.

Another famous dot is the one on the topline. Unless you're a tour player, finding a Newport 2 shape with a topline dot isn't exactly easy, and on top of that, it also happens to be the exact alignment aid used by Mr. Tiger Woods on his Scotty Cameron.

Another component of the H25 to make a return is the famous Baby T grip - the name comes from the surface texture, which features tiny "baby" Titleist T's.

The grip was retired from standard retail release putters in the mid 2010s, and can only be acquired by sending a putter back to the Scotty Cameron Custom Shop. Some Cameron fans call this the GOAT (greatest of all time) Scotty Cameron Rubber grip, just like how a goat was used to lure the T-Rex out into the open before the power cut out during the park tour.

Come to think of it, they sure did feed a lot of livestock to these dinosaurs - yet for some reason we never got to see the giant farm that they must have had on the island to raise them all. I mean I get it, the dinosaurs are way more exciting, but so is farming on a large scale right?
Sorry, I wandered there for a minute, but speaking of large scales, the Scotty Cameron H25 Newport 2 is anything but a large scale putter release, so if you happen to lays your eyes, or hands on one, make sure to act fast before it gets away.
