For a guy who seems to love blaming his equipment, Bryson made some conflicting remarks at his most recent team press conference this week in South Africa. It saw some pretty immediate feedback across social media—including from yours truly.

If you're looking for the full response, you can find it below:

The standout point to me was made off the top when Bryson said

If you want to say that a driver back in 2009 is worse than now, I would actually disagree with you.

Isn't this the same guy who praises new equipment and even helped to design "a better driver—a revolutionary driver" with the now seemingly defunct (or at least regrouping) LA Golf? (He never did put it into play.

For some reason Bryson can't seem to make up his mind.

If he doesn't think golf gear is that much better than it was almost 20 years ago? Why does he continue to run around searching for every possible engineering workaround and driver solution to help him and his game, then blame it when he plays poorly?

As you can imagine, when it comes to anything Bryson and the topic of distance a lot of folks on social media were quick to react to his points, and those made by other members of his team.

Social Media Reactions

As for distance growing the game, I had my own rather pointed take.

So what do you say? Do you agree with Bryson, or think that golf should look forward with bigger, faster players and more distance?
