On the PGA TOUR, there aren't that many clubs that have serious staying power. Of course, there is the obvious: Tiger's putter, Brooks Koepka's Nike Vapor Fly driving iron. But one that has flown under the radar for close to two decades is Brandt Snedeker's Odyssey White Hot XG Rossie. (Title Image: GolfWRX)

Now, even though that Odyssey putter made its way to Tampa for the Valspar, it was a TaylorMade Spider TourX X7 that went into play on Thursday and helped Brandt lead the field in strokes gained putting, and give him solo possession of second place.
If we look at Brandt's 2025 stats, he was still one of the top putters on TOUR, ranking 11th at +.531 strokes per round. To put that into perspective, after the first round of the Valspar, he gained +5.092 putting against negative strokes gained off the tee and around the green. As seen below, he was also close to +2 strokes on approach.

The biggest question now, after round one, is whether this was a one-off burst of putting prowess for a golfer who made 13 or 25 cuts in 2025, or could this be a little extra pep in the step for Brandt after an equipment change that could propel him to a top finish this week in Tampa.
I guess we have to wait three more rounds to find out.
