Cobra Golf’s design team has been pushing boundaries of golf club manufacturing techniques for years, from CNC milled driver faces, to 3D printed iron and putter badges to full-blown sets of 3D printed irons.
Now in collaboration with HP, Cobra Golf is bringing 3D Printing Technology to putters with the release of the LIMIT3D putters in four distinct models—Enzo, Enzo-30, Pista-45 and Pista-60.
“The ongoing partnership between Cobra Golf and HP highlights the transformative power of our 3D printing technology,” Alex Moñino, Senior Vice President and GM of HP Additive Manufacturing Solutions said. “The launch of the new ENZO putters showcases Cobra’s unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence, leveraging HP Metal Jet to deliver groundbreaking performance and design for golf enthusiasts worldwide.”
Much like the original Cobra Golf LIMIT3D irons, the putters utilize a one-piece 3D printed construction that allows for unique mass properties in a solid construction putter to generate an uncompromising feel. Each putter is 3D printed from 316L stainless steel and features a lattice structure to support thin areas and tune subtle frequencies within the heads. This type of mass distribution increases forgiveness without relying on secondary parts.
“As leaders in technology and innovation, we recognized the potential of 3D printing to create more advanced products,” Chad DeHart, Sr. Product Line Manager at Cobra Golf said. “The impressive performance gains of the LIMIT3D irons made it an easy decision to apply the same technology to putters. We are excited to introduce these new models and believe players will be impressed by their performance.”
The final part of the manufacturing process requires CNC machining the face to include LA Golf’s Descending Loft Technology to reduce skid and increase forward roll at the moment of impact.
