Cleveland Adds CB and Broom Models to HB Soft 2 Line

In the world of putters, there are a lot of options choose from. Then when it comes to pricing from most major equipment manufacturers, the bill can rack up pretty quickly—this is where the Cleveland HB Soft 2 putter line is coming in and disrupting the putter world in a big way.

With prices starting at just $150 for the standard HB Soft 2 models in a satin finish, it’s difficult to find better value when it comes to buying a brand-new putter. The only previous drawback to the HB Soft 2 line was it being limited to conventional putter styles (35” or less) - that was, until now!

Cleveland has just announced the release of the HB Soft 2 CB (counter-balance) and Broom options for golfers who are looking for alternative putter styles without breaking the bank.

These new putters, which are offered in the popular 11 and Retreve (in CB model only) head models, feature heavier heads to go along with the longer build specs to balance out the heavier grips and encourage a smooth and consistent stroke.

Like all HB Soft 2 models the putters feature Clevelands “SOFT” (a.k.a. Speed Optimized Face Technology) to help normalize ball speed across the face for better distance control and a soft feel at impact.

My Take

With the CB models priced at $170 and the Broom priced $200, this line extension from Cleveland offers some of the best value in the alternative putter market, especially when it comes to the Broom (long putter).

With some comparable CB and long putter models priced around $350 and one of the most popular long putters on the market starting at over $500 these putter options are a no-brainer for any golfer who has been curious to try an alternative putter style, but was nervous about shelling out close to $400.
