The driver market is full of options, and I would be willing to argue that there is probably too much choice between all the big manufacturers, which, at the end of the day, likely creates confusion for consumers, especially those less likely to go for a proper fitting, seriously, get fit for your driver (or any club for that matter).
But, on the other hand, choice can also be a good thing. It creates competition and value, and for some golfers, it gives companies the opportunity to offer niche-fitting options that allow for ideal fine-tuning so golfers can get the most from their game.
This is exactly where the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond TD fits in.
From the outside, the Elyte Triple Diamond TD doesn’t look any different than the standard Triple Diamond model, but it's what's on the inside that counts. The TD features adjusted internal weighting to help close the clubface more easily and promote a more draw-biased or left start line ball flight.
It also helps maintain ball speeds and reduce spin axis for golfers with a tendency for misses toward the heel, and does all of this while still offering a much lower spin profile compared to the Elyte core model or the Elyte X.
As a natural fader of the golf ball, I must admit that the Triple Diamond TD is one of my favourite drivers of the year, not just for me personally, but for any golfer who prefers a smaller profile driver head and also wants to avoid the big right miss.
Sure, the standard Triple Diamond model is great (and from the top, it looks the same as the Triple Diamond TD), but it can still be a little too fade-biased for any golfer whose natural shape is left to right. With the extra internal weighting towards the heel in the TD (Tour Draw), you get the benefit of extra draw without having to go to a head that might spin the ball too much or draw too much the other way.
Since a fade is hit with a club face open to the swing path, fades naturally spin slightly more than a draw under similar conditions, but the Triple Diamond TD not only helps to keep that spin down, it helps to make sure that a power fade doesn't become a slice.
So if you're a player in need of lower spin and maybe a little help closing the club face more often, the Callaway Elyte Triple Diamond TD is a driver to check out for sure!
