Callaway's Apex UT, UW and Ti Super Hybrids Are Back!

The newest collection of Apex clubs looks to offer a solution for any long game problem.

If there is one part of a full club setup almost every golfer struggles with, it's the area between the longest iron and the longest fairway wood. Unlike with wedges, where the decision-making process is relatively one-dimensional based on distance gapping, this long game section is filled with options. Depending on a player's speed, club preference, and even typical playing conditions, you can use anything from a higher lofted fairway wood to a driving iron, and with higher lofted fairway woods well accounted for in the Callaway lineup, this is where the updated Apex line finds a home.

Featuring an all new Apex UT utility iron, UW utility wood, and Ti Super Hybrid this 2025 update gives golfers across the swing speed and club preference spectrum something to choose from.

Apex Ti Super Hybrid

When it comes to technology, Callaway’s Super Hybrid has always pushed materials and technology to the extreme to gain every possible performance advantage, and the newest version is no exception.

The Apex Ti Super Hybrid borrows technology from for the Ti-Fusion irons to braze a lightweight, high-strength titanium face to a heavy steel body to produce better overall energy transfer and improve stability. This is made possible because rather than using an all titanium construction to push mass to the perimeter, the steel body in many ways does it all on its own. The results is more stability and more ball speed, more often.

Much like the Elyte fairway wood, and the new Apex UW, the Ti Super hybrid utilizes a stepped sole geometry to reduce turf interaction to further assist in cleaner contact from various lies.

As for shape and profile, the new Ti Super Hybrid borrows its profile from the original Super Hybrid which has quite the cult following. The depper face is especially helpful for those who tend to struggle with higher lofted woods based on a steeper attack angle.

Apex UW

When it comes to unique clubs that have serious staying power, the Apex UW could be at the top of the bunch. Ever since making its debut in 2021 the UW has been a top choice for golfers looking for the perfect blend of fairway wood forgiveness and hybrid functionality.

In many ways the newest version is getting back to its roots by offering a slightly higher toe profile than the previous edition and once again going back to a step sole design to improve turf interaction.

As for updates, the new UW features a Tungsten speed wave to push mass low and forward in the head without sacrificing the ability for the sole to flex and generate higher ball speeds on low face strikes.

As for the top of the head, the new UW is the first in the series incorporate what Callaway calls a TriAxial Carbon Crown to save mass from the top of the head to reposition around the parimeter of the body.

Apex UT

Now for those at the highest end of the swing speed spectrum who prefer the looks of a long iron over a hybrid or fairway wood, this is where the Apex UT comes in.

Even with a rich history of creating tech-packed utility irons, the new Apex UT truly takes it to a new level with a completely new construction method that separates the face from the sole to allow more flex from a smaller surface area.

The six-piece construction includes an AI designed face to improve ball speed consistency, plus what Callaway calls FlexCore that separates the forged hollow body from the rear of the club to provide the extra flex.

All in, this new UT is build for speed and control, yet still looks like a traditional utility in the address position to appeal to golfer who want tech, but prefer it hidden when behind the ball.
