Oakley Finally Made the Golf Collection I’ve Been Waiting For

Driven by JR Smith, Oakley’s Fusion Collection blends performance, identity, and modern golf style

For the last year or so, I’ve half-jokingly referred to Oakley as my “NOT FOR GOLF” leader. Not because it didn’t belong on the course, but because it always felt like the brand was circling the category without fully stepping into it. The Fusion Collection is that step. And my immediate reaction was simple: finally.

Driven by JR Smith, the Fusion Collection doesn’t feel like Oakley dipping a toe into golf. It feels like Oakley remembering who it’s always been. Performance first. Identity second. Culture always lurking just beneath the surface. This is a head-to-toe capsule that respects golf’s traditions while challenging what golf is allowed to look like in 2026.

As a former athlete, I’ve always gravitated toward sportswear for its versatility and honesty. Oakley has long excelled at industrial design that serves a real purpose, and Fusion carries that DNA cleanly onto the course. The Edge Elite shoe is a standout example. Laceless, weather-ready, built to move, and still polished enough to pass every dress code that matters. Same goes for the Fusion Chino and C1 Fusion Top, pieces that balance technical construction with silhouettes that don’t feel costume-y or try-hard.

The jacket, the cap, the bag, even the eyewear details feel intentional, designed for golfers who care about how things function and how they feel when you catch your reflection walking to the first tee. Golf has never had more choice, which can make it harder to know what’s actually worth paying attention to. This collection is worth your attention.

The Oakley Fusion Collection will roll out in full this February, both online and in stores.
