We won't belabor the point, because it's only going to remind us how old we're getting, but today is Tiger Woods' 49th birthday. And to mark the occasion, Skratch's Dan Rapaport took a deep dive into the archives to explore one thing we feel Woods doesn't get enough credit for, amid all the credit he gets for all the things.
And that is his contributions to our on-course (or on-couch) vocabulary. Without Tiger, we might not understand that there are, in fact, dozens of ways to describe a left-to-right ball flight. We might also not know it's totally fine and cool to abbreviate the word "trajectory"—and so we're forever working on our Traj.
They're just a few of the many instances where Tiger made us smirk without a golf club in his hand. And so in honor of his last year on this side of 50, here are our favorite Tiger-isms through the years.
