SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Wyndham Clark made it look pretty damn easy over the first two days of the U.S. Open, posting rounds of 64-69 to hold the solo-lead at 7 under. But there were plenty of notable names who struggled with Shinnecock Hills and are headed home a few days early.

The group includes Jon Rahm, who missed just his second cut in his last 27 major championship starts.

Here's a look at the long list of big names who missed the cut at the U.S. Open.

U.S. OPEN: How to Watch

Notable Names Who Missed the Cut at the U.S. Open

Bryson DeChambeau, 5 Over (70-75)

Golfer in white shirt holding a club horizontally on a green with a crowd.

For the third major in a row, DeChambeau is headed home after two days—but remember, YouTube Golf is great prep for the biggest tournaments in the world!

Viktor Hovland, 5 over (76-69)

Male golfer in a white shirt and cap swings his golf club vigorously.

Hovland played solid golf on Day 2, but an opening-round 76 was too much to overcome for the Norwegian.

Rickie Fowler, 5 Over (71-74)

Male golfer walks on green near a red flagstick during a golf tournament.

Fowler had a 12-foot birdie putt on his 36th hole, but couldn't get it to go. He's now missed three straight cuts this season.

Patrick Reed, 5 Over (72-73)

A male golfer in a dark polo shirt follows through on a swing on a green course.

After two top-15 finishes at the Masters and PGA Championship, Reed is headed home after two rounds at Shinnecock.

Jon Rahm, 6 Over (68-78)

Golfer in a white hat mid-swing with a golf club, spectators blurred foreground.

It looked like Rahm was going to be right in the conversation over the weekend after opening with a 68, but the Spaniard played some ugly golf on Friday.

Patrick Cantlay, 6 Over (74-72)

Bearded man in white polo shirt and cap looking intently to the right.

Many liked Cantlay's chances this week, but it'll be another major championship disappointment for arguably the best player without one.

Shane Lowry, 6 Over (73-73)

Golfer in blue shirt with a towel, hands on hips, observing a blurred crowd.

The Irishman played all four rounds at the Masters and PGA Championship, but he won't do the same in the Hamptons.

Cameron Smith, 6 Over (75-71)

A male golfer in a maroon hat and polo shirt, viewed in profile, looks right.

After tying for seventh at Aronimink last month, Smith, as he did at the Masters, missed the cut at the U.S. Open.

Min Woo Lee, 7 Over (74-73)

A male golfer in a pink shirt swings a golf club on a lush green course.

Lee missed the cut at the Masters back in April, and he had the same fate at Shinnecock.

Adam Scott, 8 Over (73-75)

Male golfer in white cap and sunglasses mid-swing with a club on a golf course.

Scott made his 100th consecutive major championship start this week, but it'll end two days earlier than he had hoped.

Jake Knapp, 8 Over (77-71)

Male golfer in a white cap completes his golf swing, looking up at the sky.

This was Knapp’s first start since the RBC Heritage in April, and the rust was obvious during a Thursday 77.

Brooks Koepka, 10 Over (73-77)

Man wearing a white Nike golf cap and polo shirt, smiling slightly outdoors.

Shinnecock's 2018 champion won't have the opportunity to win on Long Island this time around after a tough Friday.
