Format, Teams & More: Everything You Need to Know for The Walker Cup at Cypress Point

We really get to watch primetime golf at Cypress Point this weekend—it doesn't get better than that. Here's all the information you need for The Walker Cup.

Cypress Point is one of the cathedrals of our sport. It’s annually ranked as one of the best three golf courses in the world. And this weekend, we get to watch primetime golf played amongst its fairways. That’s about as good as it gets.

The Walker Cup—a biennial event which pits the best amateur golfers in the United States against the best amateurs in Great Britain and Ireland—kicks off on Saturday, September 6. Some of the notable names on Team USA include Jackson Koivun, the No. 1-ranked amateur in the world, who finished T-11 or better in three straight PGA TOUR starts to end his season, and Michael La Sasso, the 2025 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship winner.

While Team GB&I has a familiar name you’ll probably recognize: Luke Poulter. Yes, the son of Ryder Cup legend Ian Poulter is the 27th-ranked amateur in the world. It’ll be fun to see if the family genes show in match play.

I know the NFL is back this weekend, but grab an extra TV on Saturday and Sunday night. This is going to be a can’t-miss event at Cypress Point.

Here’s everything you need to know for the Walker Cup, including format, TV and streaming information, and a rundown of the teams.
